How to Take a Taxi

Many train stations have a taxi stand(「タクシーのりば」).
Taxies are more expensive than buses. But the fare remains the same regardless of the number of passengers.
It goes nonstop to your destination. So it is fast and convenient.
If you are anxious about the fare, you can tell the driver your destination and ask the estimated fare first(However, your driver may only speak Japanese).
<Note>
(1) The rear doors of taxies automatically open and close. The driver operates the rear door for you to get on and off.
(2) It is believed that there are no vicious taxi drivers in Japan, who overcharge you.
In case that you come across such a heinous driver, write down the places where you boarded and alighted from the taxi, the amount you paid, the license plate number and so on. Call a helpline for foreigners to report the case.
